Treasury of Bible Stories: Rhythmical Rhymes of Biblical Times by Kelly Pulley (Win a Copy of Your Own!)

We are always looking for new and fun ways to present the bible to our youngsters.  I have found and used several “Princess” themed bible passage books with our daughter, but have found there to be very few good bible choices for young children that are gender neutral or more masculine.  This is a wonderful rhyming book that concentrates on a few of “arguably” the most significant bible stories and makes them enjoyable.  Adam and Eve, Noah’s Ark, Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors, Baby Moses in the Nile, Escape from Egypt, Red Sea, Joshua at Jericho, Gideon’s Doubt, David and Goliath, Queen Esther, Daniel in the Lion’s Den, Jonah and the Whale, Jesus’s Birth, John the Baptist, Jesus Walking on Water, Good Samaritan, Wayward Son, Last Supper, Jesus on the Cross, and Resurrection are included.

This book has been a good bridge from reading small religious books to more involved story-telling for Ladybug, now that she is a bit older and can sit a little longer. She is two and really enjoys listening to these stories at bed time.  The pictures are inviting and help involve her in the story line.  This would make a fantastic first bible for many families.
